"Acha to aap Bhagwan ko nahin mantay" ("So you don't believe in God")
"Nahin" ("No")
"Tow ek kaam karo....ek chapal lena aur mandir mein
jakar do lagana bhagwan ko..." ("Do this.. take a slipper and go to a temple tomorrow and hit God with a slipper there")
"Kyun aisa kyun karu...?" ("Why should i so that")
"Karo tow sahi phir pata chalega"("Do it then you'll come to know")
"Acha...per main assay nahin karna chahta..main
bhagwan ko nahin manta per jo tum mantay ho uski
respect karta hoon...tow chapal marna meray hisab
sai sahi nahin hai" (Ok, but i don't want to do this. I don't believe in God but i respect what you believe so hitting God in a temple with a slipper will not be right as per me")
"Iska matlab aap bhagwan ko mantay ho...warna maro
chappal.." (So that means you believe in God")
"Acha...chalo...tum Hindu ho na?" (Ok..tell me, are you a Hindu")
"Haan, kya aap Muslim ho?" ("Yes, are you a Muslim")
"Nahin, main Hindu hi hoon. Tow kya tum Allah ko
mantay ho..?" (No, I am also a Hindu but do you believe in Allah")
"Nahin...main kyun manu?" ("No...why should i?")
"Tow tum kal chappal lena aur do lagana Allah ke ek
Majid mein jakar" ("So tomorrow you take a slipper and hit Allah with them in a Mosque")
"Main kyun lagaun?" ("Why should i?")
"Arey tumnay hi tow kaha ki tum Allah ko nahin
mantay" ("Hey...you only said you don't believe in Allah")
"Nahin...main manta hoon ki Allah bhi Bhagwan hi
hai...per main Allah ko nahin manta" ("No i believe that Allah is also Hindu God...but i don't believe in Allah")
"Arey..dekho..jaisay tum Bhagwan ko mantay
how...main uski respect karta hoon..aur jaisay
Muslim Allah ko mantay hain...main uski bhi respect
karta hoon...waisay hi..agar main bhagwan ko nahin
manta..tum uski respect karo.." (" See like you believe in Hindu God, i respect that...Muslims believe in Allah, i respect that too...like wise you should also respect if i don't believe in God..")
"Nahin Bhagwan hai...aur aapko bhi ek din pata chal
jayega ki bhagwan hai...dekhna aap" (No...God is present...you'll come know one day..you'll see")

An excerpt from a conversation with an autorickshaw driver from Bihar on my way to ISBT in Delhi...(i being the non-believer for the sake of this debate..)
While I am agnostic about God, this conversation made me think about the concept of God to mankind...here are my thoughts and brief assessment about the "Concept of God"...
God to mankind or believing human beings is name to a "Hope".
Anything not happening the way we want it to happen, the feeling of loss, conflict, etc. bring a lot of negative emotions like sorrow, anger, frustration, fear.Any situation, condition or mental state favourable to us or helping us deal with negative emotions and turning them into postive emotions is considered to be the work of God. More specifically any situation out of our control but ultimately turning in our favor or vice versa makes people feel that it is the work of God...you may call it luck but that's another blessing and act of God many believers will agree..So God is a "Hope" that we hold on to turn Bad things/situations in to Good or things / situations that are already Good or in our control then keep them that way..
God is name of the "Unknown"
God is considered the creator, the sustainer and the destroyer in Hindu mythology..and most believers of God (Hindu, Muslims, Christians, Jews or any other) believe so because we don't fully understand how, when & why this universe was created, how it's still working and how it'll all end...and that's what we call God...the "Unknown".In most cases though we have given a name and shape to this "Unknown" though most believers believe that God is everywhere and in everything with no specific shape or form...
I think the concept of God was conceptualized to put restraint on mindless actions on part us humans...to tie humans into one...to keep minds occupied...ultimately to give unknown direction to the "Directonless" and finally a "Hope" that will allow you to "Let go" and provide an illusion of support from a Supreme being at all times by making you believe in presence of one...helping you be at peace thus help in avoiding a lot of chaos in the society..
I think anyone can go on and on in trying to describe the concept of God...and as i am writing this i feel there is a lot more that can be written but even then it won't be sufficient to fully explain the concept of God since as i am realizing it may have so many different meaning to so many different people.I am writing just the ones that seemed obvious to me. I am myself getting enlightened as i write all this...but for now i think i am done...will post more if i find time...
